About Ada + East

Hi! I’m Kara. Thank you for "shopping" by & supporting my dream! 

Ada + East was born out of feeling stuck in life. A feeling so many are familiar with. . .  Twelve years ago, I decided to pause my career in the fashion + styling industry to help my husband grow his real estate business. What was meant to be temporary turned into a whirlwind career balancing an immensely successful real estate team with our personal life.

In 2020, when COVID19 struck & we were stuck at home, I had time to revisit my passion that had turned into a hobby. I realized, while grateful for the business I’d built with my husband, I'd given up so much of myself to a career that was meant for others but not for me. 

So, I took the leap to launch my baby, Ada + East. 

My passion for fashion + the parts of real estate I loved (hello, staging!) + a drive to leave this earth better than how I found it forged the idea of a site where you can shop for hand curated goods to outfit your home, closet & baby. I hand select everything for sale with an emphasis on sourcing products that are woman or BIPOC owned, environmentally friendly & not found on Amazon. I also believe in plastic-free shipping methods; all of our shipping products are recyclable or compostable or made from recycled product. And when I say all of my shipping materials are either compostable or recyclable, I mean you can throw them right in the compost or recycle bin at home.
